The History of The Tattoo Rebellion
The Tattoo Rebellion is a fusion of two well-established bands merging from Montreal, Quebec, (Sign of One) and from New York, NY (Tragic Orange).
Sign of One from Montreal, Quebec promoted a total of 5 professionally recorded full length albums and independently sold over 6000 units in merchandise and CD's. They opened for bands such as Dredg and Powerman 5000, and also headlined both The Moshcore Festival and the Montreal CampusFest three years in a row. Sign of One also played in many reputable venues, such as the Viper Room, Roxy, Troubadour, and Whiskey a Go Go.
Tragic Orange operated under a small Indie label located in New York. Following several months of militant rehearsals and the recording of a new EP, the band decided to hit the road In 2008/2009. With the help of booking agent Tim Corser, Tragic Orange toured for one year, playing shows from coast to coast with international bands such as Powerman 5000, Dredg, Saliva, Taproot, Cold, In This Moment, Pop Evil, Ear Shot, and Framing Hanley. Since then, the group's popularity grew consistently, retaining national airplay in many circuits. They found themselves headlining their own shows at the same venues they once played in at the beginning of their career.

How The Tattoo Rebellion formed
Viko Rain (the current lead guitarist for The Tattoo Rebellion) left Sign of One in Montreal, Quebec and moved to New York City to join the band Tragic Orange, where he met Phill Harmonik (the current Lead singer for The Tattoo Rebellion).
Viko and Phill had worked together for a few years, not only writing and producing material for Tragic Orange but for their own enjoyment and when Tragic Orange went their separate ways in 2010, Viko returned to Montreal, Quebec to show the material to his friends and bandmates from Sign of One. Kevin and Peter (Sign of One) loved the material and from there a project in the form of The Tattoo Rebellion was formed.
In a Rock Band was the first single written and produced by The Tattoo Rebellion. The full album was written, recorded and produced in both Canada and the USA, where the lyrics for songs and the music were emailed back and forth between the band based in Montreal and Phill Harmonik based in New York City.
The Tattoo Rebellion's sound is an expression of all the sounds the bandmates had growing up. Influenced by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters (the list could go on). The Tattoo Rebellion will rock your world.
Band Profile
Phill Harmonik (Lead Singer)
Phill Harmonik was born in East meadow N.Y. and grew up in a small suburban town called Hauppauge. Harmonik was always enamored by music and mystified by the rock'n'roll front man. As a small child you could find him dressing up as eighties rockers and jumping around his bed room or banging on garbage cans singing "we will, we will rock you"! Very influenced by Led Zepplin, Aero Smith, Queen and Black Sabbath as a young kid and moving on to Punk like The Misfits and Rancid then to Metal like Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera and Tool then eventually to bands like Fugazi, Built to Spill, Sunny Day Real Estate, Ween and nineties bands like Nirvana which was a game changer for Phill. "I just loved Bleach I never heard anything like it or any one sing like that, it was like suddenly it was OK to be sloppy, melodic, and hard at the same time which I think is the essence of rocking roll."
From a young age Harmonik was singing and playing in bands and eventually founded a band called Tragic Orange that Viko Rain would later move to New York to join. After Tragic broke up Phill and Viko continued collaborating and would later form The Tattoo Rebellion where you will still see Phill singing and jumping around on stage just like the child Hood version of himself.
Viko Rain (Lead Guitarist)
Born in Alexandria Egypt on the 23rd of May.
Viko was fascinated by music and entertainment while growing up . He started playing guitar at 6 years old but eventually quit because he wasn't t sure what he wanted to do with his life. A few years later at school he was asked to do a lip sync performance over the song Life is live by opus where Viko won 1st place out of 40 kids. They carried him on their shoulders to celebrate and that's when it was decided... He would continue with guitar and go one and entertain the world.
Viko's family moved to Canada when he was 12 years old and it's in Canada where he discovered rock and roll...specifically bands like Nirvana and Guns and Roses.
At age 14 he got his hands on an electric guitar and a small 10 watt amplifier and that's when the journey began, he eventually met Taza (Peter Tzaferis) through mutual friends and the 2 have been playing music together ever since. Taza and Viko went on and formed the band 'Sign of One'.
Peter 'Taza' Tzaferis (Drummer)
Peter Tzaferis AKA ( Taza) was born on June 7th 1981 in Montreal, Qc. From a very young age Peter's musical interest were very visible, banging on pots and pans to finally upgrading to a real drum set at the age of 12. That's when Peter's inevitable musical journey began.
Peter's Mother was a world class singer and a strong musical influence on him, he was introduced to all sorts of different styles which makes him the versatile drummer that he is today. Form funk to metal to rock and trip hop, Peter plays it all. He played in a few bands as a teenager, both original and cover bands. Then in his late teens he co-founded (Sign of One) which went on to do a lot of great things, such as touring in the USA and sharing the stage with a handful of national and international bands.
When 'Sign of One' broke up after 10 years of being together, Peter's journey didn't stop, he continued playing on his own, mastering his craft and eventually got the offer to join the band 'Slaves on dope' which have just released their new album (Over the influence).
Kevin Mieszczyk (Bass Guitar)
Born and raised in Montreal Canada, Kevin had always had an interest in music. It might of been his mom who brought him to countless music festivals as a kid, or his dad who was always playing one of his many Rock n Roll records from the 60's and 70's. It was Kevin's mom who bought him his first bass at 15 years old, and he never looked back.
After playing with friends and classmates in various bands his first serious project came when he joined the local band 'Sign of One' at 21 years of age. Now playing with The Tattoo Rebellion he hopes to continue his quest at making an impact in the global music scene.
